Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Designing Adam 2 WordPress Blog.
This is the Development Diary of Adam 2 so we can keep track of what we are doing and why we are doing. We will keep our focus on developments and this blog will go a little more into the technical details, so get your notebooks ready!
Since now we have 2 blogs, one on Adam I and other on Development of Adam II, we have dedicated information threads to follow issues and updates!
Times ahead are exciting!
Warm Regards

cant wait to hear more
Rohan: I have no idea whether you have ever read any of my postings. I have seen several postings receive personal feedback, so I know you read your blogs. If you have never paid attention to me before, I ask that you pay attention this one time
There is one design feature of the Adam that I would very much like to see go away on the Adam 2. I have feedback that suggests this is not just a quirk of mine, so I’ll lay that out first:
I have two Adams, so I set one up with a fresh ICS beta and loaned it to a friend of mine for evaluation. She is very tech savvy, is web master on several commercial internet sites, but has had absolutely no experience with any of the tablets. So I expected her to be a pretty good “new user” experience test.
After a week with the tablet, I asked her how she liked it. Her first reply was “I hate those buttons on the left hand edge of the tablet! I’m always pressing them by mistake!”
This was also my first experience with the tablet, and although I’ve sort of learned “not to do that!” it is still often unexpectedly annoying to have something happen unexpectedly and realize you just accidentally pressed a button. Specially since Honeycomb and IceCreamSandwich both have software buttons that are much better placed and supply most of these features.
Of the 4 buttons that currently exist, the only ones that have any use at all are the menu button, and the long hold backlight control. The back button is reproduced in both software and the actual push button on the side. The exit button is available in software.
Since I’m talking about buttons, I would encourage the power button to become a push button instead of a slider. Most other tablets do it that way, and I find them easier to use.
Of all the enhancements to ICS that I would like to see for the Adam, the addition of an option in Settings that would allow the user to disable the left side buttons would be a wonderful improvement
Thank you for your time and attention. I would be interested in your reply to these issues.
Waiting is,
I do read your comments
Done, won’t have those 4 buttons on the sides!
Regards
